Could Marriage Allowance help you save up to £252 a year on your tax bill?

Married couples and those in civil partnerships where one person with income below the Personal Allowance, usually £12,570, may be able to save on their tax bill by claiming Marriage Allowance.

Couples where one partner has recently retired, has given up work to take on caring responsibilities, or is unable to work due to long-term health conditions, may not realise they might be eligible for Marriage Allowance.

Customers can input their salary details into a free Marriage Allowance calculator on gov.uk to find out instantly whether they’re eligible.

Couples only have to apply online once to save on their tax bill for every year they qualify.
