Get Online Week 2021

 

October 18-24 is Get Online Week to promote getting everyone online. More than three billion people in the world are digitally excluded. The aim is to raise awareness of those who are digitally excluded and build the skills of those who are online so they can do so safely and with confidence. 

Advice NI are running two safety workshops for Get Online Week as well as a digital clinic in Carrickfergus.

Get Online Week - Staying Safe Online Part One

Tuesday, October 19, 1-1.30pm - free 

This course is an introduction on how to use the internet safely both at home and out and about. When and where you can give out personal information and how to spot scams before it's too late.

Following on from 'Staying safe online', the second part of this series will explore:

  • safe webpages and browsing
  • spam emails
  • fraud & identity theft - how they happen and what to look out for
  • additional security measures available.
