Wiseradviser: Understanding and Supporting Clients in Vulnerable Circumstances (NI)

Due to the recent developments with COVID-19 this course will now run via the online Zoom platform instead of face to face. It will be delivered on 6th July 2020 live course from 10am-1pm. Access instructions will be sent to you after you sign up. This course will help you to understand what makes people vulnerable, different types of vulnerability and ways to support clients. By the end of this course you will be able to: •identify useful categories and definitions of vulnerability •recognise appropriate, useful questions and a best practice approach when supporting clients in vulnerable circumstances •identify useful rights and protection for clients in vulnerable circumstances provided by legislation and guidelines •recognise how debt type and vulnerability are linked •recognise how to handle and record sensitive personal data correctly •identify signs, triggers and best practice approach with clients experiencing financial abuse •recognise what we can expect from creditors when working with clients in vulnerable circumstances.
Who Should Attend: 
Wiseradviser courses are appropriate to anyone currently working with vulnerable clients facing financial difficulties.
All Wiseradviser courses are FREE to organisations providing FREE and impartial money and debt advice.
There are three levels to Wiseradviser training – Generalist Level (G) (provides basic principles of money advice), Skilled Level (S) (develops skills and knowledge of generalist money advisers), and Specialist Level (SP) (helps advisers deal with more complex cases). Most Wiseradviser courses are accredited with OCNNI at Level 3 or 4 and prepared for the Skillsmark endorsement. Accreditation is optional however, workbooks must be completed for the MaPs accredited courses. See individual courses for further details. All attendees MUST book their place online at www.wiseradviser.org and NOT using the Advice NI booking form. A notification e-mail will be sent once a booking request is received. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation e-mail advising them of their course place. Should a place no longer be required it MUST be cancelled via the wiseradviser website (see cancellation policy).
