Personal Independence Payments Awareness Sessions (NEW) - 14th September 2018
Friday, 14 September 2018 -
2:00pm to 5:00pm
This half day training session updated for 2018 focuses on perhaps the most significant reform to non means tested benefits in a generation. It provides participants with an overview of both parts of PIP, how the benefit is claimed and assessed, how to best prepare to complete an application and how to support someone through the process.
Who Should Attend:
The course is aimed at advisers and others working with groups/individuals who are likely to be impacted by PIP changes, i.e. those with a physical or mental health difficulty or disability or those in a caring role.
There is a charge of £30 to Advice NI Members, £45 to Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations and £65 to Private and Statutory Sector Organisations.
There are 3 CDP hours available for the session.
The sessions can be used as evidence towards a range of units in our Advice and Guidance NVQ’s and Legal Advice qualifications including ‘Understanding the Importance of Legislation and Procedures’ (Unit 30). It is also linked to the National Occupational Standards for Legal Advisers including ‘IB19 – First Line Welfare Rights and Legal Advice’.
Presented in a clear, concise manner with great supporting material. A very useful course well worth the time spent.
Further scheduled sessions may become available. Please check our website for details. We are hoping to be able to offer this on an in-house basis for groups of 15 or more should funding become available. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to express an interest in this option.
