Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to Personal Independent Payment (PIP) reassessment stats
Advice NI continues to deliver our Welfare Reform Support Project which provides clients who are affected by the changes to the welfare system with free, independent, confidential advice and support.

Advice NI note the latest statistics from the Department for Communities on DLA Reassessment decisions from June 2016 to November 2017. There have been 40,610 DLA Reassessment claims cleared as at end November 2017, with a disallowance rate of 30% (10,160). Out of a total of 16,320 mandatory reconsiderations cleared, 62% (10,190) were related to DLA Reassessment claims with 23% of these DLA Reassessment mandatory reconsiderations resulting in an award.

According to the latest appeal statistics seen by Advice NI for 2016/17 (April 2016 – March 2017), out of a total of 51 Personal Independence Payment appeals, 18% (9) were allowed (with 31% disallowed; 47% adjourned and 4% withdrawn).

According to the latest appeal statistics seen by Advice NI for 2017/18 (April 2017 – September 2017), out of a total of 1,950 Personal Independence Payment appeals, 23% (445) were allowed (with 31% disallowed; 43% adjourned and 3% withdrawn).
