Independent Welfare Reform Support Project - Update June 2016

The Welfare Reform Advice Services Consortium (Advice NI, Law Centre NI and Citizens Advice) are delivering a project to offer support to anyone needing help or advice relating to any of the changes to the welfare system.
These changes are having a huge effect on some of the most vulnerable people in our society.  Our advisors are trained in Welfare Reform Changes inclusive of the incoming Universal Credit and have additional training to provide a holistic advice service.
The project Staff are also able to provide information sessions for all your staff members and to be a point of referral for your customers needing support and assistance through the ongoing upheaval of Welfare Reform Changes.
We have advisors in all areas throughout Northern Ireland and the referral systems have been made as streamlined as possible in line with Data Protection to ensure your customers will receive assistance efficiently and effectively.
The project provides free telephone, email and face to face support to clients who are affected by the changes to the welfare system and includes assistance such as form filling, benefit and income maximisation, appeal preparation and tribunal representation.

The Independent Welfare Changes Helpline provides bespoke additional independent expertise and support on the full range of welfare reform issues.
The helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Alternatively, if you feel a meeting would be useful to discuss any of the above, including setting up of a client referral process, or if you would simply like some further information on Welfare Reform Changes and the Welfare Reform Support Project, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
