Advice NI hosts another successful Members’ Day
The overarching theme of our event was supporting resilience and wellbeing across the Independent Advice Network and we kicked off the day with an introduction from Gavin our Membership Support Officer while Arfawn, Head of Membership, launched our membership feedback report. We also had input from Seonagh who is part of our training team at Advice NI and gave an overview of our training opportunities and made members aware of the risks and impact of cuts in training funding for volunteer advisers across the sector to undertake our Adviser NI course.
We also had an excellent presentation from Aoife Hamilton (Employers for Childcare) on the work-life balance and how to promote this culture and move away from ‘presenteeism’ (attending work when you aren’t physically or mentally well).
Clare Cuthbert from Blue Moss then facilitated group workshops with our members covering the following topics; Service Delivery, Administration, Training Needs, Internal Working Environment and Connectivity. Finally, as part of National Stress Awareness Day and to finish off the event we concluded with a meditation and stress management session, delivered by Anne Ward from Xhale, which included practical self-help tips and resources to draw on including links to her YouTube channel for practical support.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and we’re looking forward to our next Members' Day which will take place in early 2020.
