Advice NI’s FREE Training Now Offered in Money Management & Universal Credit

Advice NI is delighted to announce that we are now offering FREE Money Management Training. This course, funded by the Department for Communities was developed following the rollout of Universal Credit (UC) which began in Northern Ireland on the 27th September 2017.
This course looks at the potential financial impact of Welfare Reform and how to support those affected by these changes. The 1 day course is designed to equip community & voluntary groups with the tools, resources and awareness to support users to manage their money and access the support services they require. Topics covered include budgeting, borrowing, spending, managing money within households, financial inclusion, digital inclusion, using online tools to manage money, and signposting to support services available.

Advice will be continuing to offer FREE Universal Credit Workshops until 31st March 2018. We started delivering these workshops in July 2017 and have delivered to over 50 organisations to date. These FREE half day workshops focus on perhaps the most significant reform to Social Security since the inception of the Welfare State. It provides participants with an overview of which means tested benefits Universal Credit replaces, how entitlement is calculated, how it works for different groups of people interfacing with the benefit and when it will be implemented in the different geographical areas of Northern Ireland.
