Advice NI SMS Service Terms & Conditions

These terms, conditions and notices (“Terms of Service”) relate to the Advice NI automated text service (the “Service”).  These supplement the Advice NI website terms and conditions and privacy policy.   Advice NI and “we” refer to Advice NI and “you” refers to the user of the Service.

Charges

Any text you send to the Service beginning with the word “Income” will be charged at your standard network rate; the charge will show on your bill and the sender will show as a five digit number, not Advice NI. Advice NI will not charge you for receiving text (SMS) messages under this Service.

Advice NI cannot accept any legal liability in respect of any charges charged by your mobile network operator for your use of the Service, or for any other loss or damage which may be caused by your use of the Service.

Messages

In order to avail of this service text Income followed by your name to our short code.

As this is an automated text service, you will receive an automated reply from Advice NI thanking you for your text and informing you that Advice NI will contact you within 3 working days.

Privacy

The Service is being provided for Advice NI by a third party service provider.

Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile number, your carrier's name and the date, the time and content of your messages and other information that you may provide.

Data Protection

Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not share your information with any third party organisations except where;

  1. such transfer is a necessary part of our activities, or
  2. we are required to do so by operation of law.

General Terms

By contacting us via text you consent to Advice NI getting in touch with you to carry out a Benefits Check.

This Service is for use in Northern Ireland.

Advice NI will not be liable for delays or failures in receipt of any SMS messages, as delivery is subject to transmission from your network operator and processing by your mobile phone device.

Service Usage and Discontinuation

There is a fair usage requirement for this Service and so excessive or wrongful use of the Service by any mobile phone may lead to that phone being blocked for this Service.  Such blocking is at the absolute discretion of Advice NI.

We may discontinue, suspend or change this Service at any time but we will let you know, of any changes, on this website.
