The training programme aims to equip advisers within the voluntary, private and public sectors with the skills and knowledge required to assist people who may be experiencing financial difficulties.

The wiseradviserprogramme is funded by the Money Advice Trust and supported by Ulster Bank to provide training to advisers who work in the field of Money Advice. Courses will be offered at generalist, skilled and specialist levels during the period from January to December 2009. The training covers all areas of dealing with debt including Debts and Courts in Northern Ireland, Banking Law, Lay Advocacy Skills and Mortgage Possession.

In launching the training programme Advice NI and Citizens Advice are pleased to continue a key partnership for the provision of money advice training to the advice sector in Northern Ireland.

In addition the event celebrated participants who have successfully completed wiseradviser accredited programmes by presenting them with Open College Network Northern Ireland (OCNNI) certificates as recognition of their achievement.
