A report detailing responses to Advice NI's online consultation which gave people the chance to have their say on what the future provision of advice services in Northern Ireland should look like has been submitted the Department for Social Development.
If you had a debt, consumer, housing or other problem where would you go for advice? Government is deciding on the future of advice service in NI. The voluntary advice sector in Northern Ireland deals with over 450,000 enquiries per year on debt, employment, immigration, benefits and other issues.
In it's consultation document A Strategy for Supporting Delivery of Voluntary Advice Services to the Community, government is proposing changes to the advice sector. For example the number of advice centres it will fund, their location and the type of advice given.
