When you become a member of Advice NI you are joining a network of organisations committed to delivering free, independent, high quality advice to those who need it most.
The following membership criteria ensure that Advice NI members are committed to Advice NI’s vision, mission and values:
  • The Centre promotes Equal Opportunities
  • Advice is part of the Centre's work
  • The Centre operates a confidentiality policy
  • The Centre operates a complaints procedure
  • The Centre is independent of central or local government control. (This will exclude from membership any Centres directly managed by a local authority but not those funded by them)
  • The Centre has a means by which it is accountable to the community. (This is normally a management committee which meets regularly)
  • The Centre is non-profit making and advice is free
  • The Centre is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998
  • The Centre has Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • If the Centre provides debt advice to the general public, it has permission from the Financial Conduct Authority to carry on debt counselling and debt adjusting
